Well, guess I missed my chance. I wasn't invited back this year. There's always next year.....................
May 26, 2008
OK THEN! This is my third year to submit a request to audition the National Anthem for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
You know what they say about the third time being a charm. Last year I sang it too fast at the audition and this year I plan to be dead-on at 90 seconds. So, wish me luck! (I wonder if persistence will get me any brownie points? )

Well, looks like I didn't make the cut for the Anthem for the bucs this year, but at least I was one of the few they called back. And there is always next year. In the meantime, I am still going to keeo singing the anthem every chance I get. Who knows- I still may make the final cut when I try for the Lightning auditions!
Come see me sometime! And whatever you want to do- don't quit until you get it done.
God Bless!

OK then.....................
Today was the date for the live auditions at the stadium. Everyone who was called back to audition was very good and they can't take us all, so now we wait to see who made the cut! I met up again with Jenny Dean from US 103.5fm. The last time I saw her was at Countryoke at GameWorks in Ybor City. She is very good. The afternoon started out hot, then it rained, but then it cooled everything off so the weather ended up being kinda nice.
So, I'll let y'all know when I get "that letter", no matter what the outcome. And if I didn't make it this time,,,,,well there is still next year! I'm not giving up and I'm not going away!
God Bless!

WOO-HOO!
I was selected to do the live audition at Raymond James Stadium on the 26th. And you can bet I'll be using those ear plugs this time! I just found out today and I am excited-can you tell?
Well, anyway, watch the web site and I'll keep you posted. I will have pix up by that night.

OK THEN. It is 2007, a new season is coming up and I am determined to perform our National Anthem for a Buccaneer home game. So here I come! I will keep trying til I "get it right" even if it takes until I 'm 30! I will keep you all up-dated. But if anyone out there needs me to sing the Anthem for any other event- just let me know. I have been able to do the Anthem for a couple of events at USF and that was pretty cool. I will keep singing our National Anthem (and anything else I can) as long as I am able to open my mouth.
2006 log of events--------hopefully 2007 will be more successful.
Performing the National Anthem has always been one of my favorite things to do. So I decided a couple of years ago that I wanted to do the anthem for a Buccaneers game. That would be soooo cool! Last year I sent in an audition tape, but didn't get any further than that. This year I tried again and was thrilled to get called back for an audition at Raymond James Stadium. But, I wasn't selected from that group. I was pretty disappointed. But hey, everything for a reason and in its proper time. The same day I got my letter thanking me for trying, I found out about another opportunity- a contest at Champions at Channelside. I had found out about it just in time to enter on July 27. With a different look (just check out the photos!) and determined to make it this time, my mom and I hit the road for Tampa.
I was totally unprepared when it was announced that I was the overall winner of the night. Especially when I realized that I was disqualified because I am not yet 21 and that the judges didn't find out until after they made their decision. Still it was definitely an honor and I met some great people. The singer who got female winner of the night is my new friend Kerry Brown. She also auditioned at RJS when I did. I am so happy for her.
So, I am detoured, but not defeated and plan to continue my quest for the anthem. I promise you will see me out there one of these days!
So keep watching, and GO BUCS!

Step one---mail in the packet and then .....wait
ANTHEM QUEST
After the audition I had to try to be cool while replacing the mic. Does it look like they are smiling to you? Man, I hope so!
On the field. Using the ear plugs this year really made a big difference. Not only is there a 2 second delay that you hear when singing in the field, but there is also an echo from the end field. So the whole time you are singing, there are three different parts of the songs being heard at the same time.
Jim Mackes stopped to let us get a picture for this year's record.
Jenny Dean from the afternoon show on US103.5FM was there to audition. She is really good!
Waiting to check in for the 2007 Anthem auditions at Raymond James Stadium.
Well, here goes!
So, I've been singing the Anthem all year long at many different places including for the basketball and baseball games at USF and
local and not-so-local events. This was at the University of Tampa Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society.
New year - new look!
Step one --- send in the audition packet and wait.............................
On the field at Raymond James Stadium - the place is HUGE!
Nope, not my best look.
This is my new friend, Kerry Brown, from Polk county. She was the female winner for the night at Champions on July 27. She is awesome!
Checking out the great competition
Chad McLaughlin of J.J.Taylor Distributing took time to talk.
Jim Mackes, Operations Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was at Champions.
Of course none of this would have happened without Carey Culp, the Karaoke DJ
My new cover-up shirt!
